I’m wearing bike shorts and an oversized t-shirt, my hair is in a messy ponytail, and my hands smell like an insane mix of four different lotions from Bath & Body Works.
I really enjoyed this essay Bethany and I have also both watched “Supersize Me” and read Michael Pollan’s work. Thankfully I’m not that rigid anymore ☺️
And yes those stereotypes of dietitians/ nutritionists need to go!
Thanks, Linn! I think that Michael Pollan really romanticizes food in a way that lacks a lot of nuance about the reality of food in America for most people. It's appealing, until you realize it's so unattainable.
Yes. I really liked his work “back in the day”, until I also understood that it is out of reach for many. Even here in Ireland. I like the podcast conversation that Laura Thomas & Virginia Sole-Smith did recently about ultra processed foods and the complexity around it.
My Mall Food Court lunch was always breadsticks and dipping them in spicy cheese sauce. I don’t even know if I can get that here or if it was an Indiana combo 😉 I also enjoyed the picture of you and two apples. I never realized that posing with fruit was a “thing!”
Yum! Well if we can't find those breadsticks with cheese, it sounds like a fun baking project that we can do with the kids one of these days! :) And lol thank you, it makes me cringe but it's also funny.

Just listened to that this week, I loved it too (well, everything Virginia does is great)!
Agree!
